Interesting blog find

I found the following on Stirrup Queens and Sperm Palace Jester's blog and found it very interesting so I thought I'd pass it along. Cool concept!

For anyone who has ever had a miscarriage, struggled with pregnancy, and all things infertile...there is a movement upon us that you might want to join. It's rather simple actually: a discreet ribbon on your right wrist to signal to others that they are not alone in their struggles.

As someone who has had 5 m/c but am currently 5 months pregnant (YEAH), I wonder who looks at my big belly with sadness because they are in the month-to-month struggle. I mentioned to a friend that I wished there was some secret nod or international sign as if to say, this belly was hardwon. Well, she posted this quandary on her blog (http://www.stirrup-queens.blogspot.com/) and the response has been quite overwhelming...and a movement has been born!

The pomegranate-colored thread holds a two-fold purpose: to identify and create community between those experiencing infertility as well as create a starting point for a conversation. Women pregnant through any means, natural or A.R.T., families created through adoption or surrogacy, or couples trying to conceive during infertility or secondary infertility can wear the thread, identifying themselves to others in this silent community. At the same time, the string serves as a gateway to conversations about infertility when people inquire about its purpose. These conversations are imperative if we are ever to remove the social stigma attached to infertility.Tie on the thread because you’re not alone. Wear to make aware. Join us in starting this conversation about infertility by purchasingthis pomegranate-coloured thread (#814 by DMC) at any craft, knitting, or variety store such as Walmart or Target. Tie it on your right wrist. Notice it on others. Just thought I would pass the word along!

Lastly, we have a graphic people can add to their side bars in order to get the word out (and create a link to this post or a similar one so people understand what Infertility's Common Thread is about).

Feel free to take and place on your blog or create your own in order to get the word out to others:http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/4171/3241/200/Thread.2.jpg and please add a link back to this post: http://stirrup-queens.blogspot.com/2006/09/history-of-infertilitys-common-thread.html.

Read more about the brainstorming that went on to create Infertility's Common Thread and the many people who brought it to fruition through comments, discussion, and write-ups: The Secret HandshakeRaise Your Right HandOperation PomegranateCommon Thread Project

I'll be heading to the craft store to get my thread tomorrow!

Sad day

Please pray for my online friend, and prayer partner, who just lost her baby. She and her husband have been trying for quite some time and finally got their bfp after their recent IUI.

My heart aches for their loss and hope that God will help them through this terribly difficult time.

weekend of ?s

Dave and I spent most of the weekend babysitting our Godchildren, ages 1 1/2 and 2 1/2. They're adorable and we really enjoyed our time with them, especially with the warm wather finally here.

The little one wasn't feeling well and fell asleep as we were getting ready for church this morning so Dave ended up staying at home with him while Abby and I went. She was so good! We went to the park, played in the tub, and changed LOTS of diapers. It was a nice visit!

The whole time I couldn't help but watch Dave interact with the kids or take in what we were doing, at the same time thinking to myself...why can't we have this? we can obviously handle this, so why not us?

I know God has a plan for us but I'm just really struggling to see what it is. I'm trying to just let it all happen but it's hard that it's not working out according to my own plan.

I just wish this would all work itself out...like yesterday!

Smiling like a little girl

I'm watching the clips on youtube from today's Today show when the New Kids on the Block were on.

I had heard rumors that they were reuniting and just sorta laughed about it. Seeing them though actually makes giddy like a little school girl. Back in the day, I was OBSESSED! Anything that had NKOTB on it, I bought. My favorite was Jordan.

I keep joking with my friends that we should go the reunion tour. They think I'm joking ;)

Ahhh, it's the little things!

The news

So after almost 3 weeks and numerous attempts, we finally heard from the dr.

As expected, the news is the same. His count is still at zero and no matter how much you prepare yourself for it, it stings just as much as the first time.

This was the first time that Dave was visibly upset about it. He just kept hugging me and telling me how sorry he was that he couldn't give me babies. As much as I wanted to cry, I had to hold it together for him.

I'm sad! I'm losing what little hope I had left. Enough is enough!
